Located in the Village of Painted Post, this park is named after former Village Mayor Charles Craig. Craig Park has numerous open air picnic tables and grills and a large pavilion that is available for rental (rental fee is based on village residency or non-residency), or if not rented, it can be used on a first come, first served basis. Electric is provided at the pavillion, and restrooms are opened when the pavilion is rented. Please note that no glass containers are allowed in the park at any time. Basketball, pickleball, volleyball, bocce ball, cornhole, swings, and a dog park make this park fun for the whole family. Please note that you will need to bring your own sports equipment such basketballs, cornhole bags, etc… A paved walking/bike path connects Craig Park to neighborhoods in Painted Post and Riverside. The pavilion area can be reserved by calling the Village Clerk’s office at 607-962-4605.
Craig Park, as of 2022, is also the current location of the annual Colonial Days celebration.

- Aggressive dogs are not permitted
- Owners MUST be in the park within view of their dog
- NO dog food or people food
- Must pick up dog waste and dispose of in bin outside of gated area
- NO choke collars – because when dogs get playing, their collars could become entangled causing vicious fighting
- ALL pets must be fixed (spayed or neutered) because they become aggressive and also create a hostile environment when they are not fixed.

- Wheel chairs are permitted. The fiber on large side is designed for wheel chairs, the small side is compacted for wheel chairs. Both sides (large and small) are handicap accessible.
Please Note:
When entering the Dog Park, please move QUICKLY away from entrance area. This will help disperse the group at entrance. Please keep your dog away from the entrance when other dogs entering. Most fights happen when dogs get overwhelmed entering the gates.
Don’t leave dog on leash once inside. Leashed dogs tend to be defensive, and other dogs get confused
PAY ATTENTION know where your dog is and what your dog is up to. TEXING is not paying attention. Inattention leads to unsafe conditions, attacks, is annoying to other people, and missed poops
Do not brush or otherwise groom pets inside park
Each handler is LEGALLY responsible for his or her dog. The Village will assume no responsibility for any injuries to humans or animals. ALL handlers MUST remain in the park at all times.
For social network you can visit Craig Park Dog Park on Facebook, there is also a playmate page.
